This is the story we are told as children on Venus. It describes the beginnings of Earth and of Venus, like those of Earth have never heard.
Many years ago, when the planet now called Earth was still an infant, it gave birth to twins
who were charged with caring for the planet. Their names were Earth and Venus. Through the years,
they became the mothers of the planet: Mother Earth took care of nature and all of its creations in the
immediate time, while Mother Venus was charged with protecting the planet through divinations. The
planet was a peaceful planet for many millennia. One day, Mother Earth created her best invention yet:
mankind. Earth and Venus overjoyed at this new creature – Earth had wanted to make a creature that
resembled them, and could assist them in caring for the planet and all of its creatures. All was well for
the first 500 years.
One evening, Mother Venus approached Mother Earth about a vision she saw in the night sky:
the clouds fought with the stars, and the stars were overtaken. Venus watched as stars were destroyed,
and then a form came forth in a cloud: a man. Men were the clouds, and the stars were nature – the
one thing that had been present since before the Motherly Twins. But Earth wanted nothing to do with
Venus’ vision; she thought her creatures were truly amazing and pure. They could do no harm.
Many moon cycles passed, and wars were fought more and more often. Earth finally went to
Venus, desperate for a divination, asking what she could do to help her creatures. Venus somberly told
her it was too late to completely save them now. But another vision had come to her: the creation of
new mankind. Venus explained to her sister that she would use Earth’s creation as a model. With Earth’s
humans as her model, she created a new form of mankind. But these humans were different: they were
created and imbued with Venus’ powers of divination. Together, the humans of Venus could assist
the humans of Mother Earth in saving their planet, but they had to be raised and taught away from
the wars. So Mother Venus went to a new planet to put her plan into action. The two planets became
known for the Twin that continued to rule and care for it: the twin planets Earth and Venus.
And so, the powers of divination were split up in Venus’ creations, and handed down through
the generations. As Mother Venus and Mother Earth pray for the safety of their creations and their
planets, so much the Children of Venus pray and send messages to Earth, in hopes of protecting the creatures from whence we came.
